MORRIS, Minn. - The MLC volleyball team won the first two sets, but was unable to finish off Minnesota, Morris in a five-set loss Friday night.

The final line score for the match was 23-25, 18-25, 25-23, 25-21, 15-11.

MLC won the first two sets, and then held a 23-19 lead in the third set, but the Cougars came back to score the final six points of that set to force more action.

After the Cougars took the fourth set, the Knights took an 8-1 lead in the fifth set, but UMM came back to score 14 of the final 17 points in the set to win the match.

Rachel Hein led the MLC attack with 14 kills, while Emily Boldt and Rebecca Engelbrecht each had ten. Hein also had five blocks.

With the loss, MLC dropped to 17-12 overall and 7-6 in the UMAC, while UMM improved to 18-11 on the season and 10-3 in conference play. This game also clinched the fourth seed for MLC in the UMAC postseason tournament.

MLC will conclude the regular season with a match tomorrow (October 30) at Presentation. The match is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
