Knights Pick up Sweep at Gustavus
ST. PETER, Minn. - The MLC volleyball team swept matches against Gustavus and Carleton Saturday afternoon at a tournament at Gustavus, being the Gusties in five sets, and beating Carleton in four.
The Knights beat Gustavus by the final line of 25-23, 14-25, 17-25, 25-20, 15-12.
Rebecca Engelbrecht led MLC in the match with 12 kills, and also added nine digs and a team-high two aces, while Mackenzie Krentz led the way with 37 assists.
Rachel Hein, Emily Boldt and Jaime Eternick each had nine kills for MLC, with Hein adding six blocks, and Eternick adding 14 digs. Renee Peters led MLC with 22 digs for the match.
The Knights followed that win up by beating Carleton by the scores of 24-26, 25-15, 25-20, 25-23.
MLC improved to 5-4 on the season with the sweep, and will return to action next Friday, September 17, when it travels to UW-Oshkosh to play Ripon in a match starting at 5:30 p.m.
