NEW ULM, Minn. - The MLC volleyball team finished off a season sweep of Crown with a 3-0 win Saturday afternoon by the scores of 25-20, 25-12 and 25-20.

Miranda Maasz led the Knights in digs and assists in a 3-0 win over Crown

The Knights jumped out to a big lead in the first, and then held off a Crown charge in the middle of the set to take a 1-0 lead in the match.

In the second set, the KNights hit .357 against a hitting percentage of -.088 for the Storm on the way taking that set.

In the third set, the Knights recovered from a slow start that saw them trail the Storm 8-3 to finish the game and the match.

MLC hit .255 for the match, and was led by Emily Boldt, who had ten kills and six total blocks in the match. Rebecca Engelbrecht hit .368 in the match with nine kills, while Katelyn Hauf had eight kills.

MLC finished the match with ten blocks, with Rachel Hein helping Boldt with four blocks, while Engelbrecht added three. Miranda Maasz finished with 29 assists and a team-best eight digs.

With the win, MLC improved to 13-11 overall and 6-3 in the UMAC, while Crown dropped to 7-11 on the season and 2-7 in league play.

MLC will return to action on Friday, October 21, when it travels to St. Scholastica for a match scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
