Three Volleyball Players Recognized by UMAC
ST. PAUL, Minn. – MLC volleyball player Emily Boldt was named First Team All-UMAC, while Renee Peters and Rebecca Engelbrecht were each given honorable mention in the UMAC postseason awards announced Wednesday. Engelbrecht was also named conference Rookie of the Year.
Boldt, who received honorable mention last season, finished the season with 229 kills (2.36 per game) while hitting .239, and also had 74 blocks from her middle hitter position. The junior finished in the top ten in the UMAC in kills per game, blocks per game and attack percentage in conference play.
Peters, a senior, finished the season with an MLC-best 459 digs and 580 serve receptions from her libero position. Peters finished third in the UMAC in digs per game (3.82) in conference matches, and averaged 4.10 digs per game for the entire season, also placing her third in the conference.
Engelbrecht led the Knights with 330 kills on the season and an attack percentage of .244. Engelbrecht finished in the top 10 in the conference in kills per game (.295) and attack percentage, and also finished third on the Knights in digs (278) and serve receptions (439).
MLC finished the season 18-13 overall and 8-6 in the UMAC, good for a fourth place finish in the conference.
