Volleyball Clinches UMAC Tournament Berth with Win at BLC

MANKATO, Minn. – The Martin Luther College volleyball team clinched a spot in the UMAC Tournament with a 3-0 win over Behtany Lutheran College Wednesday night by the scores of 25-19, 25-16 and 25-16.

The Knights hit .267 for the match, with Rebecca Engelbrecht and Heather Danell leading the hitters with 11 and ten kills, respectively. Danell was especially effective, hitting .474 and also leading the team with six total blocks.

Miranda Maasz led all players with 32 assists and also added three blocks and 11 digs. Alex Anthon led the Knights’ back row players with 15 digs.

MLC improved to 15-11 on the season and 8-4 in the UMAC with the win, clinching a top-four seed in the conference. BLC fell to 6-19 overall and 5-8 in league play in defeat.

MLC will close the season with a pair of home matches, starting Friday, November 1, when it hosts Northland in a match scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
