Volleyball Drops Two at Gustavus
ST. PETER, Minn. - The MLC volleyball team dropped a pair of matches Friday night at a tournament at Gustavus Adolphus, falling to St. Scholastica 3-0 in a non-conference match, and then losing 3-2 to UW-River Falls.
The Knights lost the CSS match by the scores of 25-22, 27-25, 25-20.
Rachel Hein and Rebecca Engelbrecht led the team with nine kills apiece, while Hein also added seven blocks.
UW-River Falls beat MLC in five sets by the scores of 15-25, 25-17, 18-25, 25-17, 15-11.
Engelbrecht once again led the Knight attack with 11 kills, while Hein was solid again in the front row defensive with six blocks. Renee Peters led the team with 18 digs, while Engelbrecht and Eternick each had 16 digs.
MLC dropped to 3-4 on the season with the two losses, and will return to action at the tournament at Gustavus tomorrow (September 11), when it plays Gustavus at 10 a.m.
