Volleyball Sweeps Northland to Close Regular Season

ASHLAND, Wis. - The MLC volleyball team closed the regular season with a 3-0 win at Northland by the scores of 25-12, 25-13 and 25-12.

Alex Anthon had ten digs and four aces in a 3-0 win at Northland

The Knights dominated in just about every facet of the game, hitting .377 for the match compared to -.023 for Northland. MLC also finished with six blocks and eight service aces.

MLC had a group of players chip in on the attack. Rebecca Engelbrecht led the way with nine kills, and she was supported by Heather Danell (eight kills), Rachel Hein (seven kills) and Rachel Larson (seven kills), among others.

Miranda Maasz finished with 31 assists, and also had three service aces and five digs. Alex Anthon led MLC with four aces and ten digs.

With the win, MLC finished the regular season at 16-11 overall and 10-4 in UMAC play. The Knights tied Minnesota-Morris for third place in the final conference standings, but will start the UMAC Postseason Tournament as the third seed because they own the tie-breaker over UMM.

The first round of the conference tournament will be held on Wednesday, October 31. The Knights will travel to St. Scholastica for a match scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
