Cost-saving measures attract attention

We have been surprised at the recent attention given to our "trayless" policy in the MLC cafeteria. Local newspaper and TV stories have explained the projected savings we may realize in the costs of water, detergent, sewer, food waste, and labor. This recent policy is just one of many cost-saving measures at MLC. Reduced cooling and heating thresholds, reduced summer watering, volunteer work days, and a continued emphasis on recycling are other ways we try to keep student costs down.
