Andrea Varnum from Pelican Lake, Wisconsin accepts her diploma from MLC President Mark Zarling

Saturday, May 14 Martin Luther College held their commencement service in the Luther Student Center Gymnasium. 152 under graduate and 8 graduate students participated in the service. Undergraduates received degrees in the following areas, 40 preseminary, 64 elementary education, 15 early childhood education, 23 secondary education, 6 staff ministry, and 4 seminary certification.

Rev. Joel Fredrich was the presiding minister with MLC President Mark Zarling serving as the commencement preacher. President Zarling’s sermon was based on Hebrews 13: 20-21

“May the God of peace equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever.” Zarling offered three prayers on behalf of the graduates. He prayed for an attitude of service, spiritual skills for ministry, and confidence to share the news of Jesus with the world.
