An Outpouring of Support

Read about our $1.25M Challenge Grant and plans for a new Early Childhood Center

Update June 24, 2013: Through the generosity of many supporters, the entire amount of this challenge grant has been matched. We thank this group of donors for partnering with us in this important ministry.

Martin Luther College gratefully reports a generous outpouring of support for its Let the Children Come campaign aimed at funding a new Early Childhood Learning Center at MLC. A group of donors are presenting $1.25M to MLC as a challenge grant. The donors offer this contribution as a celebration of the blessings the Lord has granted to young souls touched by early childhood education (ECE) ministries and as a strong encouragement to fellow WELS members to participate in this important ministry partnership. Through June 2013, this group of donors will match gifts for Let the Children Come dollar for dollar up to $1.25M.

To ask questions or discuss how you might participate in this challenge grant, contact Jon Scharlemann, MLC VP for Mission Advancement, at 1.877.MLC.1995; or WELS Ministry of Christian Giving at 1.800.827.5482.

Martin Luther College is the leading institution for training Lutheran early childhood directors and teachers. With the rapid growth of ECE ministries across WELS, it is essential that MLC provide a strong number of well-trained ECE graduates. Let the Children Come is the campaign designed to support this important training by funding a new Early Childhood Learning Center and by providing continuing education assistance to early childhood educators in the field.
