New Teacher Support

The WELS Commission on Lutheran Schools has developed a set of WELS Teaching Standards as a framework to guide educators in faithful service. New teachers and mentors use the teaching standards to set goals that impact ministry. WELS NTI seminars and webinars support this work.

New Teacher Seminar - Analyzing Student Work and Differentiation: Thursday January 16 and February 6, 2014, BrochureOnline Registration Form

Time and time again the request is made by WELS educators: “Teach us about differentiation!” One begins to wonder if there will ever be a day when we feel we’ve mastered differentiation. Without critical parts of the process, mastery is next to impossible. In two upcoming seminars, lead mentors will guide teachers through the first step necessary in developing a classroom of differentiation: analyzing student work. Teachers will learn to develop the mindset of analyzing work which will ultimately give a smooth transition to differentiation in lesson planning.
